Certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health to provide services to children, adolescents and adults. Assessment and treatment by Board Certified Psychiatrists, Licensed Social Workers, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. All of the Counseling Services are full-service outpatient programs for adults and adolescents. In addition Phelps Echo Hills works with children, age 6 and older, and their families. Services offered may include:

  • Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment for depression, anxiety and other psychiatric/ emotional issues
  • Group Therapy may include specialized groups for adolescents, anger management, stress management, depression, anxiety, groups for older adults, groups for people with medical illness and many other types of groups

Continuing Day Treatment (CDT) 315 South Highland Avenue, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510 - (914) 923-5700. Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Staffing includes the Program Psychiatrist, Licensed Social Workers, a Vocational Counselor and a Group Leader. Services offered may include:

  • Multiple Mental Health Services for people requiring more than a clinic setting and less than an inpatient hospital setting

Chemical Dependency Services (Outpatient)

Phelps Chemical Dependency Programs are certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Services. The Phelps Chemical Dependency Programs treat people with chemical abuse/dependence in an outpatient setting. These programs also serve adults, adolescents, families and persons affected by another's substance abuse. Our programs are made up of multi-disciplinary teams which include: Psychiatrists, Licensed Social Workers, Nurses, Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors, and a Vocational Counselor. Inpatient Behavioral Health Services

Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (Dual Recovery for Co-occurring Disorders)

Our inpatient Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit (BRU) is a voluntary 21 day substance abuse treatment program. In this program, substance abuse treatment is provided in an atmosphere that is sensitive to the needs of the patient with co-occurring disorders. The 42-bed program for adult patients (age 19 and older) offers individual and group therapy in a setting specifically designed for the MICA (Mental Illness/Chemical Addiction) population. Each treatment team is headed by a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner. The interdisciplinary treatment teams include psychiatric nurses, licensed social workers, activities therapists and credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors ( CASACs) who provide group, individualized, and goal centered treatment. This includes education on alcohol and drug addiction including gambling and nicotine dependence issues.

Inpatient Psychiatric Services

Our 22 bed Inpatient psychiatric unit is an acute care unit for adults who are 18 and older. Individualized, goal-centered treatment is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week in a state of the art facility. A multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, recreational therapists and others, with specialties in geriatrics, substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Protocols stress active patient involvement with emphasis on: thorough and continuous assessment, stabilization, symptom management and development of comprehensive coping skills. A specialized program for the geriatric population is available. The program is designed and staffed to treat the developmental and physical challenges associated with aging.

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is available a safe and effective medical treatment for certain psychiatric disorders. Available to individuals as an inpatient and outpatient service.
