Counseling Services
Certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health to provide services to children, adolescents and adults. Assessment and treatment by board certified psychiatrists, certified social workers, and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Treatment includes: individual, couple, family and group counseling; medication management; crisis intervention; support for social issues such as divorce, illness and career changes; and support for individuals discharged from psychiatric hospitals. Continuing Day Treatment
Multiple services for individuals requiring more intensive treatment than a clinic setting can provide. Program mission: to help individuals remain in the community by increasing individual skill levels and improving self-determination abilities. Group and individual treatment modalities focus on identification and completion of treatment and rehabilitative goals. Supportive Intensive Case Management (SCM)
Highly trained case managers provide advocacy and liaison services to connect eligible patients with housing, legal, medical, transportation, entitlement and mental health services. Objective: to assure that persons with serious mental illness have access to services and support necessary to enhance or maintain their level of functioning in the community. Chemical Dependency Services (Outpatient)
Addiction Treatment Service (ATS)
An outpatient program that provides substance abuse treatment and counseling for adolescents and adults . An interview/evaluation prior to commencement of treatment includes a psychiatric assessment and a determination of the individual’s willingness to follow through on a treatment plan in conjunction with a 12-step program. Treatment may include individual and group counseling, education and medication management. A Day Rehabilitation Program as well as other clinical programs are offered. The Day Rehabilitation Program is five hours per day, five days per week, and includes educational/vocational assessment, counseling and referral. All programs are designed to treat both the alcoholic and the dually diagnosed patient. Provides education and counseling for DWI mandates.

Phelps Threshold
An array of outpatient services for adolescents and adults and their significant others. A professional staff assesses patient needs, provides family education, and offers co-dependency groups, early/middle/late stage recovery groups. The Latino Program offers individual assessment, education and group therapy. Provides education and counseling for DWI mandates.

Adelante ("Forward") is a Latino program at Phelps Threshold. It offers culturally sensitive treatment for Latino patients affected by alcohol or chemical abuse/dependency. Focus is on the following areas:

Special Adolescent Services
Specially designed alcohol and substance abuse programs (OASAS certified) for adolescents. Treatment includes: group and individual therapy, educational and preventive groups, anger management and conflict resolution, as well as 12-step meetings and group sessions concerning relapse prevention and the maintenance of an alcohol-free and drug-free lifestyle. Family members are offered specially tailored educational programs, support groups and their own 12-step meeting referrals. Multi-disciplinary teams include: psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, art and recreational therapists and credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors. Inpatient Psychiatry
Phelps Memorial Hospital Center is located in Sleepy Hollow, NY on a beautiful 64-acre site overlooking the Hudson River. A Stellaris Health Network Hospital, Phelps is a member of the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health Services and a participating agency of the United Way.
Phelps Inpatient Psychiatric Service
A 19-bed, acute, general psychiatric unit for adolescents who are 18 years of age or older, adults, and geriatric patients admitted for treatment of acute psychiatric illness. Individualized, goal-centered treatment, provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and others with specialties in geriatrics, substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Protocols stress active patient involvement with emphasis on: thorough and continuous assessment, stabilization, symptom management and development of comprehensive coping skills. The professional team works to facilitate the patient’s rapid return to community, home and family.

Inpatient MICA
Inpatient Behavioral Rehabilitation Units (BRU)
A 35-bed dual diagnosis service for adult patients in a specially designed setting. Individualized, goal-centered treatment, provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An interdisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurses, social workers, credentialed alcoholism counselors and activities therapists. Primary components: stabilization, psycho-education and medical management. The treatment team, headed by a psychiatrist, works with each patient to develop a comprehensive biomedical psychosocial evaluation and create an individualized treatment plan specific to the individual’s needs. Every effort is made to assist patients in adjusting to a lesser level of care and returning to their community, home and family.

Payment for all Services
Third party reimbursements, including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted for all services.
If these are not applicable, outpatient service rates can be based on a sliding scale.
