Honors for Phelps Cardiologists

January 13, 2006

Heart & Health Reports, a national publication founded by Phelps Memorial Hospital cardiologists, Doctors Franklin H. Zimmerman, Arthur E. Fass and Dina R. Katz, received a Silver and Bronze award in the 12th annual National Health Information Awards. This program recognizes the nation’s best consumer health information materials.

“We were very pleased to receive this prestigious award,” says Dr. Zimmerman, Director of Critical Care at Phelps and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the publication. “Our newsletter was recognized among the nearly 1,100 entries judged by a national panel of health information experts.”

The awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials.

Heart & Health Reports is a subscription-based heart-health newsletter, with readers in all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. “People need a credible resource that provides answers to questions about treating and preventing heart disease,” says Dr. Zimmerman. “We’re gratified to provide a service not only to our local patients, but also to individuals all across the nation.”
